A huge congratulations from Spruce York to Sophie and Danny!
Rate My TakeawayYouTube star, and LDC Radio presenter; Danny Malin, has tied the knot with Sophie Mei Lan; Britain’s Got Talent belly-dancer and Yorkshire Post Journalist, at a star studded ceremony at Leeds Minster, followed by a reception at the Aria Suite in Leeds.
Saturday the 10th of June was a glorious day with the sun shining on Sophie and Danny for their wedding day at the gorgeous setting of Leeds Minster in West Yorkshire. The couple live streamed the ceremony online to allow their huge fan base of over 650,000 followers to be a part of the wedding.
Eco-conscious Sophie and Danny chose to support local Yorkshire based small businesses to help them in making their dream day become a reality. The couple met with York Wedding Suppliers whom they were keen to support.
York Wedding Suppliers is a group of local Wedding Suppliers offering brides and grooms to be everything needed for weddings and events. The group’s suppliers cover everything from flowers (Lottie Robert’s Flowers) , handmade wooden gifts and personalised decorations (Spruce York) , celebrants (Here to Eternity Ceremonies), wedding cakes (Apple Tree Cakery) , dresses (Bridal Reloved York), hairdressers and barbers, wedding venues and bars (Middleton’s, Deighton Lodge and The Artful Dodger) , stationery, event styling, wedding cars, handmade jewellery and hair items (Bunny Loves Evie), and even Alpacas on your big day from Butterwick Alpaca Retreat or Walkies Down The Aisle who can walk your pets down the isle, along with many more fabulous local suppliers!
On the big day; Sophie had two dresses, the ceremony dress was a regal style, followed by a chiffon dress with embelishments for the wedding breakfast, both from the award winning Elizabeth who runs Bridal Reloved York on Micklegate in central York. Bridal Reloved York stocks a large range of pre-loved and new wedding dresses with excellent customer service. Group member Robert Harrison of Robert Harrison Photography was the couple’s photographer for their pre wedding photo shoot, he also covered the photography on the big day, and even designed the bespoke newspaper wedding favours. Rob covers all aspects of wedding photography and videography along with web and graphic design, from order of services, wedding websites, to drone and video footage and photography. Spruce York created personalised wedding dress and suit hangers for Sophie and Danny and their bridal party to compliment their White, Green and Yellow colour scheme to signify the Yorkshire Rose. The bespoke wording was lasered in our Yorkshire workshop with names, the date of the big day and their role in the wedding, complimented by a yellow bow hand tied on each hanger.
The Yorkshire Evening post said “It was a true regional affair when it came to using suppliers too, with Spruce York making bespoke wedding coat hangers, Aroma Fizz Faye making hangers and flip flops and Helen Naughton creating Yorkshire-inspired wax melts as favours for all the guests.”
